can't resist. i'm posting a few more snow pics. all taken on campus.

weather network: -5°C, feels like -10°C
i was deceived by the sun! i was in a hurry to meet my fren and so i din check the weather report. i juz threw on 2 thin jackets thinking it was nice and warm outside. I WAS WRONG. it's -5 outside now, and it's gonna be worse at nite.. (i haf a nite class later)
we went to our prof's house on friday.. took the bus there, and den walked to her place. it was MAD. there were tons of steep steep slopes (think bukit timah hill) and there was this long portion that was PITCH dark. it was quite scary. and u noe some street lamps had sensors. so they'd light up suddenly and jolene would scream. hahah.. but it was quite freaky lar. din feel like canada at all. her house is GORGEOUS. apparently it has a lovely view of the sea, and they haf this telescope. can see orcas, whales & seals! woohooo~ the house is obviously very expensive. haha..

after walking for 30 mins, we finally reached the road we were looking for.
nice hor.. it's a very big house for 3 pple to stay in. haha.. the inside is even nicer..
that's my prof in the middle. she's from peru. she's really fit and healthy and looks very young.
jolene! we had to hang arnd for more than an hour for our bus so we were fooling arnd
nice horrr.. at first i tot they were fake. but jo said they were real. i wana buy a bunch to bring back for my mummy! but they'd die. =(
some how the apples here look so much shinier and nicer than the ones back home. i wonder why. chemicals?

praying very very very hard
my laptop gave me the biggest scare ever yesterday evening. it seemed to be working fine during my project meeting which lasted for about 5 hours. and then later when i got back to my room, it just wouldn't work! it would hang after i got into windows.
i have SO MANY THINGS due this week! and my laptop is acting up. i was surprisingly calm about it (u noe how i usually freak out over stuff like that? well it din happen this time), although i was supposed to have a presentation the very next day. u see i backed up most of my stuff on my thumbdrive, so i was able to head towards my school's computer lab to use the computers.. (it closes at 3am, so i stayed till late)
remember that it was snowing? well it snowed, and snowed, and den snowed some more on sunday. when i woke up in the morning, my grp mate had left a voice message on my fone telling me that school was closed for the day! i dunno if that's gd or bad, coz it means we'll haf the presentation on thurs instead. but it meant that the computer lab wasn't open! so that left me stranded, since i haf 1000 things to do, and no laptop or computer available to me.. so i resigned myself to staring at the walls and perhaps studying for my exams coming up.
well throughout the whole time i was still very calm about everything, although i dunno why i did, but i trusted God, and some how knew that things would work out despite everything. (and anyway, if my laptop dies, there's nothing i can do abt it anyway)
i decided to try switching on my laptop again, this time pulling out the internet wire. this time it worked! i think maybe there's something wrong wif my msn, or smth, aiyah, i dunno stuff like that. well, my laptop mite still die at any pt of time, which is really freaky, but i'm juz trying to get as much work as i can get done now coz it mite happen at any time.
i'm praying v v v hard that my laptop lasts!
i noe i promised pictures, but i dun think i'll post them up yet, although i have some very pretty pictures to show u guys. i'm juz going to focus on my work and finish as much as i can now...

snow in victoria!
it's SNOWING in victoria! woke up for church, pulled my curtain open, and saw TONS of snow! gosh... it's not supposed to snow in victoria! it looked the rockies, but this time the snow was even heavier than the rockies! quite a few roads have been blocked already, and it's supposed to snow snow snow this week, which is really surprising, since it never snows here. haha.. and guess what? i have 3 presentations next week. so i dunno how i'm going to wear my biz wear and brave the snow! it's juz a bit too much. haha..
i haf taken quite a few pics, but i'll post them up later. got a project mtg now. take care

ok, as u can see, i'm super stressed coz i haf tons of project reports calling out to me rite now.. hahaha..
oh i mite be going to the see the Northern Lights after my exams instead of the east side of canada/usa. haha.. which is super cool as well. i'll let u guys noe where i'm going. hee hee. cant wait!!

have you become hard of hearing?
i received an email from my dad that shook me and almost drove me to tears. it was such a timely reminder for me, as i'm now bogged down wif projects and reports and work. my parents have been serving my church's chinese nurse ministry for quite a while. they mentor these young ladies from china. one of dad's students expressed how God has blessed my dad wif 2 children who are walking with God bcoz he has been faithful. my dad shared wif me this thru his email, that he does not think he is worthy of these accolades, but that he is encouraged and prays for his children that we may be faithful.
lately i've been feeling very bogged down wif school work and i've been feeling very disheartened. i am so used to my regular bible study sessions back home that challenge me so much. i admit that i've slackened and used the excuse of work to skip some of my daily quiet time wif God. this email from my dad really woke me up n made me feel so guilty, yet thankful that i have a great dad that wants to see me walk close to Christ. i'm glad for this reminder.
i'd like to share smth i juz read from the daily bread today:
"It shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, "Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears." - 1 Samuel 3:9
"God spoke audibly to Samuel. Today He speaks to us by His Spirit through the Scriptures, other people, and our circumstances. But as a result of neglect and nonstop activity, some of us have become "hard of hearing." We need a "spiritual hearing aid" like the one in Samuel's prayer: "Speak, for Your servant hears" (v.10). This humble attitude is a real help for the spiritually hard of hearing."
God speaks through His Word -- take time to listen.

canadian rockies
this is going to be a looonnng update. haha... wif tons of pictures, of coz. i took SO many pics, i had to make a grand total of 10 colleges! hahaha... but the pics were so beautiful, i couldn't resist! *grin* there are tons of scenary shots, bcoz i was in such awe of God's wonderful nature that i couldn't resist snapping away like mad. boy, am i glad for that 1gb SD card i haf. it let me take so many pics lar.
i'll let the pics do the toking...
this is almost at the start of our journey... (see the lively mexicans in the backgrnd?) hahah...
this bus was our 'home' for a grand total of 4 days. hahaha.. we travelled about 1,500 km in total. canada is a REALLY huge place.
we had a really cool kitchen on the first nite.. that's one of my brazilian roomies in the foreground. i love microwaved ham and cheese burgers. totally made my day. haha.. all of us were cheapos and opted to bring our own bread (i bought cold burgers from the cafeteria).. so we were all super sian of bread by the end of 5 days.

this was my first sight of the snow... i've seen snow before, in yellowstone.. but never snow fall... and it was like a winter wonderland.. let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

lake louise! the winter look of lake louise is really pretty... pity we couldn't go ice skating on the lake, bcoz it wasn't frozen enuff yet. i would haf loved to try ice skating on a lake!
johnston canyon.. our next stop. =)
pics of the johnston canyon... we had to walk on this catwalk that was SO slippery there were some parts where we had to literally grab onto the railings and SLIDDEEE down... hahaha.. it was kinda like skiing.
at the end of the very very slippery catwalk, was our reward: the lower falls.
this is where marilyn monroe filmed one of her movies. can't remember what the title of that movie was bcoz i din noe of it, but apparently she 'fell' down those falls. betcha it was a stunt double.

haha.. becky and i bought a whole chicken each for dinner that nite coz we had mega cravings for meat. eating bread for so many meals straight gets bad fast. haha..
these were my roomies! anna, debora, ellince and me. =) they're from brazil, and v v sweet.

think mel looks really gd wif this cowboy hat, so i juz had to put it up
cheryl and i tried out the food at the ol' spaghetti factory. it has several outlets every where in canada & usa. very delicious spaghetti, big portions. nice tiramisu as well! (can't beat bakerzin, but better than nothing)

as u can see, we encountered all 4 seasons in our rockies trip. *grin* a touch of spring (kinda), summer, autumn and winter!
